On the picturesque medieval square in Levoča we find a lot of nice town houses. The most famous local monument is the Gothic Church of St. James with the famous wooden altar – which is the largest Gothic wooden altar in the world, but for most visitors the most beautiful building in the city is the local Renaissance town hall with arcades and towers.
