Rauðhólar volcano (209 m above sea level) is located in the northeastern part of Iceland, in the Jökulsárgljúfur National Park. From its top (to which the ascent is limited due to nature protection) there is a wonderful view of the middle course of the river Jökulsá á Fjöllum. The volcano is considered one of the most colorful on the island, its slopes play with different shades of red, ocher, yellow and gray-black.
