The famous landmark of Mostar is the Old Bridge over the Neretva River, built during the Ottoman era. The bridge served its purpose for 427 years until 1993, when it was destroyed during the Civil War along with most of the city. As it was an important monument, the bridge was restored and reopened in 2004. It is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The bridge is 29 meters long and 4 meters wide.
