Mount Taranaki (also called Mount Egmont) is one of the most beautiful volcanoes in New Zealand. With a height of 2518m, it is the second highest mountain on the north island, which is a respectable height, considering that it rises almost straight from the sea. Thanks to its accessibility, the top of the mountain is one of the most visited peaks in New Zealand, but because it is a coastal area, the weather is changing really fast and it is not advisable to underestimate it.
