Brennisteinsalda, „Burning Mountain“, is not high, its peak is located only at an altitude of 881 m above sea level. The slopes of the mountain play with a variety of color shades. Lush green, just above the Grænagil gorge, with a black stream of obsidian lava and red, ocher, yellow and white below the summit.
