Altitude / mountain sickness

Petr Liška Wrote 27.01.2013:

High altitude and the associated mountain sickness is the most common problem of most travelers passing through Peru. Alpine treks in the Cordillera Blanca or Huayhuash lead through passes higher than 4,500 m above sea level. Definitely do not underestimate adequate acclimatization!

Petr Liška Wrote 27.01.2013:

Peru is a relatively safe country. The greatest danger here is possible earthquakes and dangerous terrain in the mountains.
