Tour Anaxos - Ampelia

The southwestern end of Anaxos beach ends with a relatively massive cliff. However, there is no road through it to Ampelia Beach. The right path begins just behind the last tavern, where the dry riverbed flows into the sea for most of the year.

The path leads only a short distance from the house to the most dilapidated surroundings of Anaxos beach and unfortunately visible from almost everywhere. A really illustrative example of how to insensitively plant a house in the field.

The trail rises between small fields and gardens before reaching a larger path after about 300 meters, including a sign with the inscription Ampelia.

From the junction, you will occasionally go from time to time in the shadow of the oysters around the last buildings in Anaxos. After about 300 meters you walk to an open space with a small farm. As soon as you cross this arid meadow, you will have the first really nice view on this walk – on a small, wild nameless beach. From here you can climb the cliff.

The road climbs on one side bordered by a wall and a small fence. After a while, a dominant in the form of a castle in Molyvos peeks out on the horizon.

About halfway up the cliff, you will come across a long staircase leading to a secluded little house.

Finally, the first view of the beach opens. The volcanic cliff directly below you is also interesting.

Ampelia is a classic wild beach that no one cleans. There is a mix of pebbles with gray sand.

Surprisingly, there are taverns with sun loungers on the beach. There is an impenetrable cliff at the southern end and no footpath. The journey here from Anaxos takes about an hour. If no one is picking you up by car, you have to go the same way back.
