- Get from the center of La Paz in micro bus or taxi to the bus station in the direction of Coroico. The vast majority of drivers will want you to pay full fare to Coroico, even though you get off much earlier. After about an hour in bus you get to La Cumbre Pass (4 660 m asl). Ask for a stop at the highest point of the road.
- Potential end of the trek is in Chairo. But there is renowned driver’s cartel and therefore they ask for a lot of money. So it is better to walk a few kilometers to bigger Pacallo for a cheap micro bus, or about 7.5 km to the new asphalt road La Paz – Coroico and hitchhike here.
