Area Štiavnica hills

The Štiavnické vrchy Protected Landscape Area does not only bring beautiful nature with fir-beech forests and the dominant Sitno, known mainly for its views. The mountains are dotted with mining tunnels, deep secrets suitable for swimming and historic mansions scattered throughout the mountains. The dominant feature is the historic town of Banská Štiavnica, known mainly for its mining activities in the Middle Ages. The area is interesting not only for fans of nature and history but also for mineralogists.
