As for other Austrian mountains, the winter season is more important than the summer tourist season. There are a number of important ski resorts in the Ötztal Alps. Sölden: here is the most important skiing on the Tiefenbach and Rettenbach glaciers at altitudes up to 3,250 m above sea level Obergurgl-Hochgurgl: more than a hundred kilometers of slopes at altitudes from two to three thousand meters above sea level. Hochoetz-Kühtai: a smaller resort around the Kühtai Vent: a small resort within the Ötztal, but pleasant Niederthai: another of the smaller resorts Gries: a resort ideal for families with children Ski pass prices start at 97E for an adult in three days.
