A visit to Chitwan seems to fall within the classic grand circuit of Nepal. Quite often tourists come here after completing a trek to diversify their Nepalese stay. Most visitors have arranged a stay here in advance at a travel agency in Kathmandu or Pokhara.

- ** Classic trip to Chitwan **: a trip to Chitwan is usually organized on 3 days (2 nights). The first day will usually take you a long way from Kathmandu or Pokhara, that you will usually only catch the sunset over the river Rapti, or a cultural pre-show of the local Tharu stick dance. The next day usually starts with an elephant ride and then you can take a bath in the river with them. In the afternoon, canoeing on the Rapti River, visiting the elephant center and a short walk through the local subtropical jungle. On the third day, he sets out to watch the birds and set off on his way back.
