The valley of Karakol river belongs among the top ten relatively large glacial rivers that flow down from the northern slopes of mountain range Terskey Ala-Too into the huge lake Issyk Kul. It is significant mainly due to the fact that a majority of hiking trails passes through it and it is easily accessible from the town of Karakol, through which the river flows. This valley is also the national park and therefore is the entrance charged.
