The extinct volcano Gunung Merbabu (3,145 m above sea level) is a two-peaked mountain, which rises opposite a slightly lower, but much better known Merapi (it is known mainly for its constant volcanic activity). Merbabu is located in the middle of the most populous Indonesian island of Java and there are also hiking trails.
