The gigantic Borobudur Stupa, more than a thousand years old, is undoubtedly the most important monument in all of Indonesia and at the same time it is the largest Buddhist temple in the world. This nine-storey building looks from a distance a bit like a strange pyramid. In addition, you will see several hundred Buddha statues and thousands of beautiful reliefs. This unique building is located far from other buildings and is also surrounded by a pleasant park, which adds to the charm.

On the way to Borobudur

From the huge parking lot, it is still about half a kilometer convenient way to the gigantic stupa of Borobudur

You can take a tour of the stupa by express and take the stairs straight up to the top to the ninth floor. However, most visitors to Borobudur walk around it on every floor and watch with amazement the amazing engravings and statues of the Buddhas.

Buddhas in the stupas

Even in these small stupas you will find statues of Buddhas. You can reach through your hand, touch the Buddha and make a wish – maybe it will come true.
