Over two saddles
The route begins and ends in Smokovec, passing through three valleys and two saddles, it is one of the more demanding circuits in the High Tatras, for which it is necessary to set aside two days. The route passes through the diverse Tatra nature from spruce forests, through rhododendron bands to the alpine landscape. During the trip, it is possible to stop in several cottages where you can have a snack and also sleep.
Follow the blue sign
The route starts from Starý Smokovec, from where we follow the blue sign towards Hrebienok to the point where it meets the main road. During the whole ascent, Slavkovský štít is shown in the foreground.
Direction Silesian House
From the blue sign, we then turn to the red one and continue along the main road to the Silesian House.
Direction Polish ridge
From the Silesian House, we ascend along the green sign towards the Polish Ridge.

Saddle Breakthrough
After returning from Východná Vysoká, we descend from the Polish ridge along the green mark, so that we can then ascend again along the blue mark to the Prielom saddle.
From the saddle Breakthrough
From the Prielom saddle, we then descend along the blue sign to Zbojnícká chata, which is the place where we sleep.
Great Cold Valley
Following the blue sign, we descend to Zbojnícká chata, while enjoying the evening views of the Great Cold Valley.
To the Cross Saddle.
In the morning we climb from the cottage along the yellow sign to the Transverse Saddle and look forward to the most challenging part of the transition. During the ascent we enjoy the views of Zbojnícká chata, the surrounding lakes and peaks separating the Great Cold and Velická valleys.
Transverse saddle
Just below the saddle come chains and footrests, which help to comfortably get into the Transverse Saddle.
Descent
The most difficult part of the transition occurs when descending from the Transverse Saddle to the Little Cold Valley. During the descent we use a large number of chains and footrests. I recommend going from the Great to the Little Cold Valley in the opposite direction, as the descent is quite difficult, especially with an increased number of tourists.
Transverse saddle
After descending from the chains, another challenging section awaits the gravel, which usually runs underfoot. The ascent route leads close to the snow field.
Small cold valley
After the descent, we walk along the green sign to Zamkovského chata, while on the way I stop for refreshments at Téry's chalet, the chatter recommended me to have a beer against my already started muscle, so I listen to his advice and only after enjoying chilled beer we descend to Zamskského chata.
Permanent member
During the descent along the red sign from Zamkovského chata towards Hrebienok, we meet one of the regular guests of the route, the local fox. From Hrebienok, we descend along the green route next to the cable car to Starý Smokovec.
