Or forgotten places near big resorts
The south of Gran Canaria is dominated by the beach in Amadores or in the city of Mogán. However, among these resorts, it is possible to find several other places where you can swim without a lot of people. Of course, none of them reach the qualities of the above-mentioned beaches, but for people who like to explore forgotten places, this can be an interesting diversion.
Road to Playa de Tiritaña
It is advisable to have a car available to visit the lesser-known beaches, but some also stop by bus. Playa de Tiritaña can be reached by road, but at first glance there doesn't seem to be a road at all. Based on my own experience, I recommend sturdy shoes. Although you can walk to the beach in sandals, it's about an inch.
Tiritaña Beach
The beach itself is sandy, nice and with a minimum of people. Unlike the large beaches in the resorts, which are surrounded by breakwaters, there are, of course, larger waves. However, a visit to this beach is definitely worth the effort in the form of worse access.
City of Ghosts
The other two visited beaches are accessed by overgrown asphalt roads lined with palm trees. If you have a question, which is a special place, the answer is obvious. It is a resort under construction, the construction of which was stopped at the initiative of local residents. The place has a special, a bit sad atmosphere.
Playa los Frailes
The unfinished resort is a short walk from Playa los Frailes Beach. This beach, if completed, would look similar to the beach in Amadores or Puerto Rico. At present, however, it is quite rocky. However, access to the water is possible here quite well and we met only two Spanish families.
Playa Medio Almud
This is the second beach of the unfinished resort. This beach is larger than the previous and less rocky. Access to the water is good, a bit rocky. But again, the number of people here is minimal.
