The most famous town on Kefalonia
The town of Fiskardo can be found at the very northern tip of Kefalonia. It is also a port from where you can go to Lefkada or Ithaca. The sheltered bay with the harbor is surrounded by many taverns. The historic center is on a hill to the south of the bay. Even further south is a second, smaller bay with a city beach. However, be aware that this is the stop for all boat trips, so after the boats land, hundreds of visitors will flock to the area looking for a place to have lunch.
Waterfront in Fiskard
Taverns and low picturesque houses surround the entire southern side of the main bay in Fiskard. You have a view of the bay and the boats from every place in the restaurant.

We head along the embankment in a northerly direction and soon have a beautiful view of the entire bay
View of Ithaca
From Fiskardo there is a beautiful view of nearby Ithaca. However, in historical times it was connected with Kefalonia
Walking route
We continue along the walking path leading along the sea around the entire town and the view of the second bay slowly opens up.

The city beach is more for refreshment than you would go here for it. Better beaches are located north of the city
Souvenirs in Fiskard
Fiskardo is a typical tourist stop, so here you will find many opportunities to buy souvenirs. A good choice is excellent Greek honey or some nice picture.

The historic center of Fiskarda is tiny. At the highest point you will find a picturesque church.

After a nice staircase, we get back to the bay, where there are already crowds of people from the cruise ships

A view of the town from the other side of the bay. Not that Fiskardo is bad, but it's definitely not something special to see either, considering that almost every trip to Kefalonia goes here
