Bandar Khayran is a protected area of small peninsulas located about 40 kilometers east of Muscat. You will find beautiful beaches, mostly accessible only on foot or by boat, with a minimum of development. Tourists most often come here as part of organized boat trips. Swimming here is pleasant without waves

Road to Bandar Khayran

Beyond the town of Yiti, the road to Bandar Khayran is interesting – it is surrounded by rugged mountains. In these places I am near the first of the bays

The new road, unnecessarily oversized in the mountain, continues along the large bay, industrial buildings to the hill, where nothing ends and nothing remains a few meters along the gravel to the famous view of the bay

We descend to a lower vantage point on a rock between two small bays

View of the mini beaches

Lots of mini beaches are available here only by boat or on the way through the arid hills

Beach number 1

From the viewpoint you can see two easily accessible beaches. The gravel leads to number 1, so there are also a few off roads, so we don't go there.

Walk to a secluded beach

We descend along a path through arid landscape to a side, deserted beach.

On a deserted beach

After a few minutes we are on a lonely beach. It is low tide and the sea is completely calm.

On the beach

At low tide it is not a problem to swim / walk to the other side of the bay, just watch out for cruise ships.

Fishermen in Bandar Khayran

On the way back, we stop at the fishermen who have their kutles at the largest bay. Here the ebb is very noticeable. There are also protected mangroves

View from the old road

We try to cross the old road and get to a great view of the largest bay

The views are really worth it and you won't want to leave at all

Old and new road

If you do not have an off road, you will have to return the same way from the old road, because you will not drive to the new one on the other side.
