From the beautiful Kolm Saigurn valley you can take a number of tours not only to the surrounding 3,000-meter peaks. However, the most famous peak here is the beautiful mountain Hoher Sonnblick (3,106 m above sea level). If you want to go on it, you must first climb to the cottage Schutzhaus Neubau (2,192 m above sea level), which can easily be the destination of a short tour from Kolm Saigurn

Barbarafall Waterfall

We start the tour at the end of the Kolm Saigurn valley at the Naturfreundehaus Kolm-Saigurn and Ammererhof chalets. Here we get a comfortable walk from the parking lot, see. Trip to Kolm Saigurn. Right from the bottom we will have a steep climb up to the edge of the valley. Along the way we will pass the beautiful waterfall Barbarafall

View across the waterfall to the valley

Just above the waterfall, the view of the valley begins to open nicely. If you are here at the beginning of summer, count on the traverses of snow fields

Descent on the way 119

Whatever you do here, do not return with the same route 112 but for a little longer 119, from where you will have great panoramic views of Sonnblick and Hocharn. The beginning of the descent leads through snow fields, so trekking poles are definitely suitable here

Descending cityscape

During the descent you can see not only the surrounding mountains, but also the Barbarafall waterfall, where the hike basically began. If you go as a circuit without ascents to the hills, count on about 4 hours
