If you are coming to Sur from Muscat, you will come across the first monument on the outskirts of the city – Bilad Sur Castle

The most famous monument, however, is Sunayslah Castle, standing on a hill above the city. There is a large parking lot and a visitor center

From the castle there is a very nice view of the city of Sur

Even from this point of view, it is clear that Sur is one of the largest cities in Oman

You can buy fish in Sur on the street if you are interested

A very interesting place in Sur are the docks, where typical Omani wooden boats are still made. It is possible to freely walk around and watch the work on the ships

From the docks you can see nicely across the bay to the watchtower on the hill – the best view far and wide, it is worth climbing despite the Omani heat

Right next to the dock is the bridge to the town of Al Ayjah. From the bridge there is a nice view of the whole docks

From the bridge you can also see the watchtowers in Al Ayyah, which is a more interesting and photogenic town than Sur
