Røldal is located on the European road E134 connecting Oslo with Haugesund on the west coast, making it a popular stop on excursions around Norway. The only local landmark is the beautiful columned church. The surrounding countryside is also beautiful due to the fact that the city lies at the southern end of the Hardangervidda plateau

Panorama of Røldal

When you arrive from Oslo, you have a beautiful view of the city and Lake Røldalsvatnet at the last minute. The panorama of the city is made by the mighty mountains towering behind it with heights of over 1,500 meters above sea level

Columned church in Røldal

The church is surrounded by a cemetery and there is a parking lot in front of it, so it is not a problem to take a tour here

Mountains above Røldal

Directly above Røldal rises a rock face 800 meters above the city. From this mountain there is an absolutely amazing view of the city

Røldal

Otherwise, the city looks typically Norwegian airy, there is plenty of space around the houses everywhere
