Picturesque walk from Pokhara
It may surprise you, but directly from Pokhara can be done very picturesque walk first along Lake Phewa and then along the river Harpan Khola. The path is surrounded by rice fields and green hills. With increasing distance from the town rapidly decrease the number of tourists, so after a while you will meet only locals. The enjoyable outing ends in Ghatichhina at the confluence of two rivers. This trip, however, you can be noticeably improved, but also made difficult by returning over the ridge to the south of the lake. Or you can continue on further on Panchase trek.
Lake Phewa behind Pokhara
It will take you about half an hour walk from Pokhara before you get into already more sparsely populated area with less possibility for accommodation and food.
Fertile lake
The farther you are from Pokhara, the lake is more greener and it becomes one big field.
Side ridge
Before you will tower a powerful side ridge from the main ridge, where is also famous outlook place Sarangkot. Along this side ridge leads the path up to the main ridge, which maybe another alternative hike.
Romantic house at the ridge
Directly at the end of the side ridge you must decide whether you continue on along the lake or begin to ascend to the ridge and set out towards Sarangkot.
Small
The river Harpan Khola makes a big arc behind the rocky ridge. There is also a small ferry to the other side of the river. There once had been a lake before it was silted.
Ford at Pame
Once you pass the small village Pame, where you can buy some food, you will get to the ford of a small river. There is no other choice then to take off the shoes and wade, or take a taxi.
Picturesque countryside
The journey continues for about an hour through scenic countryside with views of the surrounding green hills and rice paddies. Because there are not many tourists, you are the attraction for locals here.
Ford of Khahare Khola
If you would like to shorten the walk, you can get to Khahare Khola by bus or taxi. The path from here leads along very peculiar bridge without railings.
Near Ghaticchina
The valley of the river begins to clutch and you're almost at the end of this stage in Ghaticchina.
Ghaticchina
Ghaticchina is the destination of this simple walk leading practically along the plain. Further continuation will already be much more difficult.
