Symbol of Slovakia
The ascent to 2494 m above sea level Kriváň begins at Štrbské pleso, from where the route continues along the red mark for about 1 hour to the crossroads at Jamský pleso. From the crossroads, a gradual two-and-a-half-hour ascent along the blue mark to Krivánsky žľab begins, from where the most demanding part of the ascent, which lasts 1 hour, begins. The way back is along the same route and takes about 1 hour less.
Strbske pleso
The ascent begins at Štrbské pleso, from where it is necessary to continue along the red sign towards Jamské pleso.
Traces of wind calamity
Traces of the 2004 wind disaster are still visible in the country, although the trees are gradually starting to grow again.
Infested trees
Around the road there are still a large number of trees damaged by the lycoat.
Jamské pleso
A short 5-minute walk to the little-known but beautiful Jam Ball is definitely worth the time.

Kosodrevina
The route later enters the rhododendron zone, but unfortunately with the arrival of the rhododendron zone comes a significant cloud cover that hides the peak.
Alpine meadows
Later, the trail also leaves the rhododendron zone and passes into the zone of alpine poles and meadows.
