Žďárské Hills is located in the northeastern part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. It's the highest part of it. The local landscape is protected within the PLA of the same name. There are a number of rivers, including Sázava. There is also a famous dam Great Darko. The center of the area is Zdar nad Sazavou
