Thayatal National Park is the smallest national park in Austria. At the same time, it connects to the Podyjí National Park, which in turn is the smallest national park in the Czech Republic. Both national parks protect the beautiful canyon-like valley of the river Dyje. The entire area is accessible by a number of cycle and walking paths. Here you will find several beautiful viewpoints and the picturesque town of Hardegg with a beautiful castle. The area of the national park is bordered by well-known vineyards with excellent wine on both the Austrian and Czech sides.
