Gateway to the area is Pokhara (mainly for Annapurna BC trek) or administrative town of Lamjung Besi Shahar (start of the trek around Annapurnas or the end of the trek around Manaslu).
Travelling by plane
Pokhara: Pokhara Airport is the second most important for tourists in Nepal. There are several daily flights between Kathmandu and Pokhara. There are also morning connections to Jomsom and Manang.
Travelling by bus
Prithvi Highway: Pokhara is 200km away from Kathmandu on a road with beautiful views – Prithvi Highway. Bus traffic is very busy here. The so-called tourist buses also run on this line, which are a bit faster and more comfortable than ordinary lines. Even so, the journey takes between 6–8 hours. Besi Shaharu turns in Dumre 70km before Pokhara (the road runs about 40km upstream of the Marsiangdi River) Siddharta Highway: From Pokhara you can easily get to the Indian border or to the birthplace of Buddha in Lumbini along Siddharta Highway. Driving time is around 7–8 hours Road to Mustang: the third important route is the road through the valley of the river Kali Gandaki to Jomsom and further to Kagbeni or Muktinah
