If you want to properly explore all the beaches, fishing villages and other attractions of the island, it is ideal to have a rental car or motorbike for the entire stay. The western mountainous part of the island is mostly without asphalt roads. Here you can go exploring, for example on a quad bike or off-road vehicle. For other cars, it will probably explicitly prohibit you from renting it.
