The northern part of the island of Tenerife is much greener, as occasional clouds stop over the Pico de Teide volcano. And even this fact makes the city of Puerto de la Cruz a colorful pearl of the north coast. The city is surrounded by a colorful backdrop of vegetation and probably does not hold back with its colors. The houses are as colorful as parrot feathers in the local famous Loro Park Zoo, which entertains both children and adults. The local beaches with black volcanic sand let both surfers and swimmers play in the waves, which are larger and more frequent than in the south.
