The Na Špičáku caves are located below the Velký Špičák hill between the villages of Supíkovice and Písečná. It is one of the oldest documented caves in Central Europe (the first written mention dates from the mid-15th century). The underground labyrinth of corridors and cracks is created in Devonian marbles (marine sediments, reported to be 350–380 million years old). The cave corridors have a heart-shaped cross-section, which was created by swirling at the surface of the underground water flow from the melting continental glacier. The cave often served as a shelter, as evidenced by numerous epigraphic inscriptions and paintings on the walls (the oldest from 1519).
