The second largest city in the USA
Los Angeles is the second largest city in the USA. It has about 10 million inhabitants in the whole agglomeration. If we don't count a few skyscrapers in downtown, it looks more like an endless small town of small houses. That is why the city is said to have the longest commuting time from all over the country. It is best to start the city tour in its skyscraper downtown
The Los Angeles Public Library
We will start the tour in the very center of Los Angeles – at the public library. It is one of the few preserved buildings from the 19th century and is surrounded by skyscrapers. It is the largest public library in the entire United States
US Bank Tower skyscraper
Next door is the recently tallest US Bank Tower, 303 meters high. At the end of 2017, the Wilshire Grand Center building was finally completed, which surpassed it at a height of 335 meters.
Aon Center Skyscraper
Looking at the library from the other side, you can see the third tallest skyscraper in Los Angeles – Aon Center with 260 meters.

The walk between the individual skyscrapers and small parks is quite worth it. It surprises quite a few people on the streets.

Pershing Square is probably the largest undeveloped area right in the city center, making it an ideal vantage point for skyscrapers.

To the northeast of downtown is another important city building – the town hall, 138 meters high and built in 1928

El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument
Remains of historic buildings, mostly churches, can be found in the „El Pueblo de Los Angeles“ area. Here was the former city center from the end of the 18th century.

You can easily manage your own downtown and the surrounding area on foot – but everywhere else it is very far. Who wants to visit Hollywood, Santa Monica or Beverly Hills must use public transport or rent a car
