Hintertux is Austria's only year-round ski area. In addition to winter fun, you can enjoy a fascinating view of the endless sea of alpine peaks, in the lower part you can also walk through the alpine meadows under the Tux Glacier.

Sommeberg

The first part of the cable car (Gletscherbus 1) leads from Hintertux to Sommeberg. From here there is a nice view of Grosse Kaserer (3263 m above sea level), somewhat overshadowing the higher Olperer (3476 m above sea level).

Olperer

The second and third part of the cable car takes us to the Gefrorene Wand to a height of 3220 m. Opposite us is the majestic peak Olperer (3476 m).

South below us, the Schlegeisspeicher reservoir (1800 m above sea level) is supplied by the Schlegeiskees glacier. Italy is still lying.

Guardian of the mountains

A local mountain ranger is watching us from his underground suite. But we don't give him a biscuit.
