Everyone who wants to travel and go on vacation, trip, trek, hike or expedition should find out about the location. There are those who object that they are hitchhiking, buying the cheapest ticket, air ticket and simply going without knowing it. It often happens that they then encounter several problems that take their time and money. Therefore, before we go somewhere, it is necessary to devote time to the destination where we are going. The more it will be for more days, the more it may happen that the planning itself will take longer than the actual implementation of where we are going.

Inspiration

I want to go, but I don't know where? Or I know what I want to visit for the state, but I don't know where to look and what it offers. Such inspirations can be found here with us on gigaplaces.com, where there is a lot and a lot of information and destinations, that they can be planned accordingly weekly holidays and even expeditions. Others where you can find inspiration are various travel agencies, such as Nomad, Mundo, Zoomtravel, which offer attractive destinations and let them use their services. But if I want to go on my own, these things are a good start, because travel agencies have selected places and are often among the most visited. Then you can look for inspiration on Instagram or social networks such as Facebook.

Maps

When I know what my destination is or the area or place that interests me, I don't just follow it. So I always open the map. The easiest way is to open maps on the Internet, where there is the possibility of several layers of maps, whether tourist, air, winter (cross-country and ski slopes) or transport (whether to count on traffic jams or detours). Here I will focus mainly on the destination and at the same time how to get to it. If it's a car, I'm wondering if there's anything interesting along the way. If it's by train or bus, I won't affect the stops along the way much. Now it depends on how much time I have for my destination day, weekend, week and more. This way I follow what is within a radius of 10 km from the destination (on the 1st day), what is within a radius of 20 km (weekend) the more days, the more then the direct route and the division of kilometers into days (if I walk). But it can happen that I don't go alone and that the whole bunch goes out. It is necessary to make a spleen somewhere or where there will be a clutch (clutch – someone who will wait for the latecomer) Spleens and clutches are most often at railway stations, stops or pubs. That's why I follow these possibilities on the maps. As well as possible refreshments along the way (pub, groceries, kiosk) This serves well mapy.cz, but even better for me google.cz/maps, where I can walk through the streets of each village and find out the possibilities of the village. As well as in the search for campsites and accommodation or even a spot for sleeping, where I follow the contours on the map and compare with the aerial image.

Professional literature

If it is traveling for several days and abroad. It is convenient to reach for professional literature. I can recommend Lonely Planet. It is not one of the cheapest, but it is a huge helper in obtaining information. Plus, they often discover places we'd never visit! These publications have telephone links to accommodation, pricing policy (tickets, accommodation, transport tickets, food), geographical distribution of regions, transport accessibility. There are many of these guides, but when planning a vacation, as I say, on your own, it's a great help. This information, which I read, I then search for in the maps and then I look for a way to them and I decide whether the way (detour) is worth it.

Transport

One of the most important things about planning is transportation. Whether it is by air or land transport. Here I will find out the possibilities of implementation. How many days will my trip be, how much time do I have between crossings. Booking tickets and airline tickets. Then, if some of this doesn't work out, the whole planning will start to flow! You then need to look for Plan B or skip something. There are also things that sometimes we do not affect and something unexpected happens. Therefore, it is necessary to find critical paths in trip planning, when something so-called shit can happen … Arrival, departure, transfer with a minimum time interval.

Travel budget

When we have a trip planned on the map, we know the prices, such as tickets, the price of food, accommodation, fees, tickets, air tickets or car rental + gasoline. This way we can set a budget + what I spend on souvenirs or mail + a reserve for possible complications. Such a reserve is 10–20% of the total cost.

A word in conclusion

But planning seems simple, it doesn't have to be. Yes, for a day or a weekend, there is not much to plan if it is in the Czech Republic. (Nowadays, big cities can be handled over the weekend, then planning is in place.) Precise planning must then be devoted to weekly or expeditionary matters. This is how a holiday by the sea can be planned, because even from the beach you can get to interesting places. Therefore, planning can take months, but at the same time it has its fruits as a result. With good planning, you avoid failures, complications and even injuries.
