The most famous lake of the Salzkammergut
Due to the fact that the northern side of Lake Mondsee is directly on the A1 motorway and is visible to all drivers, it is probably the most famous lake in the Salzkammergut. Perhaps the best view of the whole lake is from the summit of the Almkogel (1030 meters above sea level) or from the Drachenwand massif (1,060 meters above sea level).
