Jungfraujoch (3,471m asl) is a mountain pass in the Bernese Alps between the cantons of Bern and Valais. It is located at the lowest point of the mountain ridge between the mountains Mönch (4,107 m asl) and Jungfrau (4,158 m asl). From the pass rises the Sphinx mountain at the top of which is located a scientific observatory. The Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001.
