The southern end of the volcanic ridge Nevados de Quimsachata is closed by the beautiful volcano Cerro Capurata (5,990 m above sea level), which is only ten meters missing from the magical border of 6,000 meters above sea level. It is separated from the neighboring highest volcano Acotango by a deep saddle (5,410 m above sea level).
