Telfes and Fulpmes are tourist towns at the end of the Stubaital valley. There is a beautiful view of the mountains from Telfes, and from Fulpmes you can take the cable car to the beautiful Kreuzjoch. In addition, there is the famous StuBay aqua center between the two towns. The walk itself is circular and you can see a few local sights on it.

Views from Telfes

Telfes is located high above the valley, so there are very beautiful views from it

Play of light in Telfes

It is very interesting here, mostly in the morning, when the sun's rays break through the fog rising from the valley.

View of Serles (2717 m)

Telfes also offers a nice view of Sonnenstein (2441 m) and Serles (2717 m), one of the iconic mountains of the Stubaital Valley

Pankratiuskirche in Telfes

Probably the only more important monument in Telfes is the local picturesque church – Pankratiuskirche.

View of Nederjoch (2142 m)

Through the church chapel you can also see another nice mountain – Nederjoch (2142 m), where you can go directly from Telfes. The ascent to Nederjoch from here takes 2.5–3 hours with an elevation gain of 1,140 meters and a distance of about 6 km. During the ascent, it is possible to have refreshments at the Pfarrachalm mountain hut

View of Kreuzjoch

To the west, there is a view of the biggest attraction here – the Kreuzjoch hill, from which you can see the Kalkkögel limestone massif, also known as the Stubai Dolomites. There is a cable car to Kreuzjoch from which you can go on countless mountain routes.

Start of the walk to Fulpmes

Finally, we go for a walk in Fulpmes. There is a very nice view of the valley from the farewell sign. In the center is another interesting mountain Elferspitze (2505 m). The highest peaks of the Stubai with a glacier can be seen all the way to the horizon.

Lower road to Fulpmes

From Telfes, we will walk along the main road for a while and just near the StuBay aqua center we will turn onto a footpath that will comfortably lead us to Fulpmes (the footpath initially leads between the aqua center and the Sonnencamping Stubai campsite)

Fulpmes

Fulpmes is much larger than Telfes, so it has more historic buildings in the center, such as the Sankt Vitus church. If you want to go out for refreshments in the evening, it is certainly a better choice here than in Telfes

View from Fulpmes

Fulpmes is lower in altitude than Telfes, but the view of the valley is still nice. We will return via the upper road leading through the settlement of Plöven

View of Plöven

You can reach Plöven by following the path leading to the Kreuzjoch cable car. Plöven is basically at the foot of this hill and the long-distance hiking route Zentralalpenweg 02A runs over it. From Plöven to Telfs there is a nice asphalt road with nice views.

Just before Telfes

It is approximately one kilometer from Plöven to Telfs. The entire circuit is four kilometers long, so it takes about an hour.

Ascent above Telfes

If the circuit wasn't enough for you, you can climb above Telfes.
