Nauders (1,350m) is a relatively high mountain ski resort, at the very western end of Tyrol. From here you are close to both Italy and Switzerland. You can organize a number of nice trips directly from Nauders. The town itself also offers some interesting sights worth seeing.

Schloss Naudersberg

The most important monument of the city is without a doubt Schloss Naudersberg, located basically at the very southern end of Nauders. Nowadays, the castle has private owners and serves as a museum. It stands in a very tactical location on the way to the Reschen Pass. Here we can start our walk through the city.

Surroundings of the castle

The castle itself stands on a small hill, but these days it is overgrown with mature trees that partially cover the castle. On historical postcards, it looks much more interesting here without the small forest. There is also a SPAR department store and a children's playground near the castle, so it is quite lively. The famous Bergkastel resort can be seen from the castle.

Upper Nauders

However, the most beautiful church of the city – the Pfarrkirche – can only be found in the upper part. Its characteristic slender tower is in all promotional photos of the city.
