During your stay in Ötztal valley it is worth to set out for a day trip along the highest located asphalt road in Austria – Ötztal Gletscherstrasse. You can thus get directly to the glaciers and in addition, you can set out from the parking place for an interesting hike to Pitztal Jöchl with absolutely stunning view of the glacier arena and neighboring valley Pitztal.

Other possibilities of hikes in the surroundings of the arena

  • Through the valley Rettenbachtal leads the main alpine hiking trail E5, making it possible alternative to driving by the car.
  • Glacier Tiefenbach is also accessible on foot from Ötztal valley. In addition, the pathway leads along nice lake Petznersee.
