Alora will exactly fulfill your idea of a white Andalusian town. It is picturesquely situated in the hills above the Valle del Guadalhorce. Apart from churches and other historical monuments, there is a nice castle. For those who have more time and strength, there is an ascent to the hill Hacho with a really beautiful view

Large parking lot in Alar

In Alar, it is definitely not worth driving into the streets – it is best to leave your car in the western part of the city in a large parking lot. There is also a nice view of the city

Alleys in Alar

Yes, the city was not built for very busy car traffic. There are many steep and narrow streets

Plaza Fuente Arriba

The first important square of the city is Plaza Fuente Arriba, where there is a very nice town hall with a clock (casa consistorial)

Alley of Alory and castle in the background

The city has basically built a hill, so somewhere you are walking on a plain, some are houses on a steep slope. In the view you can see the main destination of the tour – the castle

Plaza Baja

We come to the main square – Plaza Baja with the largest church in the city. This is in contrast to the surrounding houses, as it does not have a white facade.

Under the castle

Take Calle Ancha Street directly below the castle. There is also a small parking lot, so the daredevils, who do not want to pedal, can basically reach the gate of the castle

View of the Valle del Guadalhorce

More than the whole castle, I liked the view from it to the Valle del Guadalhorce

View of Alora and Hacho hill

From the castle it is beautiful to see that Alora is not a village, but a pretty decent town. Hacho Hill rises directly above the northwestern end of the city

Alora Castle

The castle itself is rather below average in competition with other castles in Andalusia
