A historic town near the Julian Alps
To the west of the Julian Alps you will find the small but beautiful historic town of Venzone. Most people pass it because they take it from afar on the A23 motorway. But it is definitely worth going along the old SS13 road through the valley of the river Fiume Tagliamento and stopping in this interesting town surrounded by mountains
Venzone City Hall
North of the city center you will find a large car park. The old town itself is still surrounded by walls. In the very center of the historic buildings you will find the Palazzo Comunale aka the town hall
Wandering the streets of the city
The town is ideal for wandering through narrow streets and looking for interesting nooks and crannies.
Chapel of San Michele
One of the most beautiful places in the city with a great view of the mountains is the Cappella di San Michele, standing next to the cathedral
The city walls of Venzone
If you walk through the gate and walk to the cathedral from the other side, you can also see the local walls. All around are green mountains (as somewhere in the tropics). There are many hiking trails, so you can stay here even longer
