A trip to the town of Krakonoše
Trutnov is a relatively large district town below the Giant Mountains located on the river Upa. You will be interested in the historical center around Krakonoš Square. You can go for a walk to the top of Šibeník (506 m above sea level), through which leads an educational trail related to the Prussian-Austrian war of 1866
Krakonoš Brewery
You can start your tour of Trutnov directly opposite one of the city's landmarks – the Krakonoš brewery. There is a large car park and the city center is just a short walk away.
Sculpture of St. Jan Nepomucký
Barvířská Street will take you to an important city tourist crossroads to the sculptural group of St. Jan Nepomucký.

From the sculptural group along Horská Street still up until you reach the most beautiful place in Trutnov – Krakonoš Square
Attractions Krakonoš Square
In addition to the dominant town hall with a huge dragon, in the middle of the square you will also find the Krakonoš Fountain, a statue of Emperor Joseph II. and the Holy Trinity Column
Jihoslovanská street
Picturesque streets with houses with arcades run out of Krakonoš Square. We will go, for example, Jihoslovanská Street
Slovanské náměstí and the Trutnov town hall
We come to Slovanské náměstí, where the brutalist town hall building is located. Typical beautification of the historic center by communist comrades.
Bulgarian street
We return to the historic city center via Bulharská Street
Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary
We turn into the short Kostelní street and in front of us rises another landmark of the city – the Baroque Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary with a 63 meter high tower

From the church there is a pretty nice view of the eastern Giant Mountains
Podkrkonoší Museum in Trutnov
Next to it is the Podkrkonoší Museum, where potential visitors can learn something about the history of Trutnov
Alley Passage
We continue along Školní Street and pass perhaps the most „medieval“ street Trutnova – Passage, leading from there back to Krakonoš Square

If you go down in the direction of Malé náměstí you will see that the inner city lies quite high above the river
Upa in Trutnov
If you want to extend the trip, you can go to the river Upa, or for a longer walk in the direction of a picturesque city park and further along the nature trail to the hill Šibeník (506m)
