The sand lies on the gold-bearing river Otava. It is famous mainly for its stone bridge, the oldest in the whole Czech Republic. Additional attractions include Písek Castle and the tall Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary with a tower 70 meters high. The Neptune Fountain in Palackého sady is also interesting. The tour of the historic center is about 2 hours

Palackého sady in Písek

We can start our tour of Písek, for example, in Palackého sady, which forms the northern end of the historic center. It is one of the pleasant relaxation areas of the city. You will see here, for example, the Frána Šrámek Theater, a fountain with a statue of Neptune or, of course, a statue of František Palacký
