Krkonoše VI Ridge Crossing: After leaving the highest mountain in the Czech Republic, the crowds of tourists drop significantly and you will be crossing the Giant Ridge, Svorová Hora and, alternatively, the Forest Ridge before you reach Pomezní boda. On this hike, you will be treated to frequent views back to Sněžka and from the top of Skalna Stol to almost the entire Krkonoše ridge.

View of the Giant's Ridge

After a short descent from Sněžka to the Jubilee Crossroads, you can already see your next route: the crossing of the Giant's Ridge and the ascent to Svorová hora (1,411m above sea level). There are far fewer tourists on this road than around the top of Sněžka.

The path along the Giant's Ridge

Giant Ridge is relatively flat and rocky – it's a comfortable part of this hike. The view to Poland, to the valley of the Lomniczka River is either from the official lookout, or even better from the top of the Giant Ridge a little further.

The view from Svorová hora

Due to the fact that the top of Svorová hora is so flat and overgrown with brambles, the views from it are quite limited. However, Snow White and Giant's Ridge can be seen quite well.

View of Forest Ridge

In the eastern direction, there is a view of Soví sedlo (1,165 m above sea level) and behind it the forest ridge with two peaks: Skalní stěl and Celo. The destination of this stage – Pomezní budy – can be seen far behind

Tourist cottage Jelenka

You will descend sharply from Svorová hora until you reach a pleasant clearing with the Jelenka tourist hut.

Above Owl's Saddle

From Jelenka, the most direct yellow hiking trail leads to Pomezní bouda, but for now we will continue along the red trail. After a while we will pass the Owl's saddle from where it is possible to descend to the Polish Karpacz. Looking back, you can see Svorová hora and Jelenka peeking out of the forest.

Ascent to the Rock Table

At the crossroads Nad Sovím sedlom, we leave the red route and head for the slightly more demanding blue route. We are waiting for the ascent to the top of the Skalní table. The view of the Krkonoše ridge slowly opens up.

On top of the Rock Table

From the top of the Skalní stolu (1,282 m above sea level), often called the Tabule, there is a wonderful view of the eastern Krkonoše Mountains headed by Sněžka.

Krkonoše differently

From Skalní stolu, on which there is a nice stone mound, there is really a very nice view of the Giant Mountains, as they are seen mostly from the Polish side.

Views to Poland

From Skalní stolu, it is almost two kilometers along the ridge to the second peak of this ridge – Chelo. The name Lesní ridge really doesn't lie, you won't see much along the way. The occasional „window“ is to see Poland lying far below you

Forest ridge landscape

When walking along the Forest Ridge, sometimes you don't even feel like you're walking along a ridge, and what's more, you're high above the surrounding landscape – all around you is a plain with blueberry fields

Forehead

As the Skalní table was amazing for its view, the second „peak“ of this ridge – Čelo (1,269 m above sea level) is just an elevation in the forest.

Last view of Sněžka

When descending from Čelo to Pomezní bud, one more view of Sněžka opens up, where this stage begins.

Border huts

After 2.5 hours you are finally at Pomezné bouda. If you do this hike in the opposite direction, it is of course a bit more difficult.

There are a number of accommodation options in the vicinity of Pomezní buda. An interesting choice is the Hradečanka cottage
