Stankovany, a village lying between the two peaks and the starting point of the trip. The peaks reach slightly over 1000m, so I would classify this trip as nutritious. Sharp offers a rocky peak covered with grass and overgrown with beeches. However, there are views of the Malá Fatra massif, Orava and the Váh river valley. The arrow is a bit higher, the ascent is not so demanding, there is a small rock town and the views are no less beautiful. Below the peak is a travertine lake.

Route description

From the parking lot at the cemetery in the village of Stankovany, follow the yellow sign to Zaškovské sedlo. The road winds through the forest to an undemanding hill. A grassy meadow stretches out in the saddle and the first views are outlined. Relaxing on a bench comes in handy. On Ostrá we continue along the green mark, again up to the saddle through undemanding terrain, mostly in the woods. From the saddle below Ostrý, the sign changes to yellow and with a really steep lift between the beeches, we step on the top, which is secured at the end by a claw and a chain, nothing demanding. The top is rugged, overgrown with beeches with several views. Probably the most beautiful for the Malá Fatra massif and the whole Orava. The way back is much faster and through Zaškovské sedlo, we go to the opposite peak of Šíp, then follow the yellow sign. The ascent is not difficult, but longer than on the previous hill. From the top of Šíp 1170m, scenery opens up to the Low Tatras and the Great Fatra. From the top we continue through a small rock town to Zadný Šíp, where there is a huge wooden cross and views of the valley. From the top we will have a nourishing descent to the Podšíp saddle. There is a settlement of timbered buildings and the only well with water that is really suitable throughout the day. Then the road leads along the green sign to Stankovany to the car. Along the way, it is possible to visit a travertine lake, which lies a short distance from the sign on a paved road. Route 17 km, time 8 hours, elevation gain 1170m
