In the picturesque countryside of Podbeskydí is the historic town of Nový Jičín. The center of the town is the picturesque Masaryk Square with its lush burgher houses. There is also the town hall with the bell tower and the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. On the outskirts of the center is Žerotínský castle.
