Lipnice nad Sázavou became famous for its native Jaroslav Hašek, the author of novels about the good soldier Švejk. The town has, but also another attraction – a beautiful medieval castle towering on top of a hill. From the castle there is a beautiful view of the surrounding Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Its dominant feature is the beautiful Samson Tower. The chapel of St. Lawrence is also interesting
