The town of Firgas is located near the more famous town of Arucas, but its picturesqueness does not match it. Firgas is famous mainly because the mineral water of the same name comes from here, which accompanies you to Gran Canaria at every turn.

Promenade

The dominant feature of the town is the promenade with an artificial, 30-meter-long waterfall, lined with colorful seats depicting the cities of Gran Canaria.

Church of San Roque

If we walk along the cascade, we will reach the Plaza de san Roque, which is dominated by the church of the same name.

The story of water

Water has been associated with the city of Firgas for centuries. It was a source of wealth for the village and the owners of these resources were called „water barons“. In the Plaza de San Roque you can also see the remains of the unique water system.

Plaza de San Roque also offers beautiful ocean views, with views of the neighboring islands of Tenerife and Fuerteventura in clear weather.
