Castle in Hanjan is located very tactically on promontory in places, where two fertile mountain valleys connect just a short distance before immense desert plain begins. Most tourists stop here only for a photo from the road on their way to the interesting mountain village Abyaneh. But it is definitely worth to see the entire freely accessible ruins, from which is a beautiful view of the valley.

Castle Hanjan in full glory

The most beautiful view of castle Hanjan is from the road leading to Abyaneh. From this side was the castle thanks to the perpendicular rocky cliff virtually unconquerable . Nowadays, there is a mast of mobile operator right next to the castle, which is quite unsightly.

The interior of the castle

The interior of the castle is freely accessible without a ticket. But like most such monuments in Iran it gradually falls into disrepair.

Corridors in the castle

You can freely go through the entire castle. But great caution is a must, because a lot of ceilings and walls are already sunken and it would be closed everywhere else in the world.

Pitch in front of the castle

You can also make use of the fitness pitch right in front of the castle.
