The attractive natural formation resembles similar objects on the North American continent. The guides also keep it a secret from potential applicants. Nevertheless, this part of the island of Tenerife is worth at least a short visit, for example, if you drive from / to Tenerife Sur Airport.

Sitting by the coast

From the TF-1 motorway, turn off at exit no. 46. We do not enjoy the local road TF-632 much: just a few meters away is a dusty small parking lot. There is a mobile bar where they make a great café cortado and offer really good homemade cakes. We sit, sip coffee, eat dessert and look at an abandoned chair that the ocean certainly didn't throw away.

Coastal landscape

After refreshments, you can continue directly along a narrow path to the gorge, or a dusty wider path about 150 meters above the rock arch.

Arch of Tajao

This beauty was created by water erosion. After a 30-meter long arch, you can walk or get under it. We can continue through the narrow gorge towards the Atlantic. Pleasant hour stop including refreshments.
