Beautiful historic city in Venice
Verona is known as one of the most romantic cities in Italy. Shakespeare's love story of Romeo and Juliet took place here. The city is also known for its ancient and historic Roman buildings.
Arena
Right in the middle of the historic center in Piazza Bra stands the wonderfully preserved Roman Arena, one of the largest after the Colosseum and the Capua Amphitheater. The arena is still used for theatrical performances to this day.
Julia's balcony
There is also a bit of a kitschy attraction in the city: Juliet's house with a balcony from the world-famous tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. In reality, however, these are non-existent characters invented by William Shakespeare, so this attraction looks more artificial.
Piazza delle Erbe
Just a short walk from Julia's house is Piazza delle Erbe with its market square surrounded by historic buildings and above them rises the 84m high Lamberti Tower.
Madonna of Verona
There is also a fountain in the square with a Roman statue of the Madonna di Verona.
Piazza dei Signori
Just a few meters away is another square – Piazza dei Signori, in the center of which stands a monument to the Italian poet Dante Alighieri.
Sant´ Anastasia
The Church of Sant´ Anastasia is worth a visit especially because of the beautiful interior.
Roman theater
On the north side of the river Adige stand the remains of an ancient Roman theater and above it on a hill an amazing view.
Ponte Pietra
You can cross the Adige River over the beautiful historic Ponte Pietra Bridge.
The most beautiful view of the city
It is no exaggeration to say that the most beautiful view of the city is from the view of the hill Castel San Pietro.

To the west stands the Renaissance church of San Giorgio in Braida, a short walk from the Adige River.

The night views of illuminated Verona are also worth it, so it pays to stay here even after sunset (for example with a glass of good wine).
Verona Cathedral
Cathedral of Santa Maria Matricolare built in Romanesque style after the earthquake of 1117.
Ponte Scaligero
A walk along the river will take you to the fortified Ponte Scaligero bridge in a short time.
Castel Vecchio
The Ponte Scaligero is connected to the Castel Vecchio castle and museum.
